About this Course
This course is designed to teach graphic design from basic to advanced level in a way that someone can make a career in design. Anyone who has no idea about graphic design or is currently at a beginner to intermediate level can take this course to get in-depth knowledge of this field.
Rather than focusing only on how to operate the design software, this course covers different aspects of the design itself, for example, composition, hierarchy, typography, colour theory, contrast and so on. These theories are explained with real-life examples and by showing practical use of them, so students can understand and relate their uses from the designs they see every day. Students will learn these theories step by step and practice them to master each of their uses by working on the assignments at the end of the chapters.
The industry standard essential graphic design software like Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign are also covered in-depth in this course, so students can shape their knowledge and imaginations into reality. The tutorials of this software cover what the students will need to design something from scratch to an end product that is delivered to the client.
This course contains more than 50 assignments to practice, where the students will design something on their own based on a given brief. It will help them to make their portfolio which they can present to a recruiter or freelancing client. These design briefs are mostly taken from real-life job briefs, so the students will get to work on projects that are commonly required in the industry. To expand the student’s knowledge and skills beyond the scope of this course, each chapter ends with additional resource materials. Students are highly recommended to check them.
At the end of the course, several related materials are included to help the students make their career in graphic design. These include work ethics for a designer, how to publish their portfolio, scopes for works as freelancers, how to save themselves from scams and so on.
This is not a ‘Learn graphic design in a fast and easy way’- course. The instructor, being a designer and instructor himself for a long time, knows what is required in the industry and where most of the students struggle. This course is designed to address them. The vast (and not easy) world of graphic design is broken in this course in a way that students can understand without much struggle. Rest assured, students will have fun exploring this world.
